Interview About the Petition

Here is an interview with AG on the petition that she is putting together.  It is for 100% recycled paper in our school.

JB: So what do you think about the petition that you are putting together?

AG: We are so excited for this petition. It could change Graland history forever!

JB: Who do you think will be signing this petition?

AG: Well, we’re targeting mostly the younger students because they have more years left in our school, and they will be able to see the full effect of the petition. They are the people of the future.

JB: Are you going to get the teachers to sign it, too?

AG: Yes. Teachers and staff members, too.

JB: When do you think our school will be switched to all recycled paper?

AG: It’s hard to say because we still have to present it to our principal first.  If it goes well, though, it will most likely take about a year or two to come into full effect.

Recycled paper

As you know we are making a petition to switch our school to all recycled paper. This would be easy because you can buy recycled paper at Office Max.  And in the future, we might try to get recycled toilet paper.  Here are some pix to show that there’s no difference beetween recycled and normal paper.

Petition

Here at school we just had a speaker, Mr. E., come and talk to us about ways that our school will waste less and less in years to come. He also talked about how much money it will save us.  He also told how we could make some of these things come faster.  This spured one of the more activist people in our group (AG) to start a petition with things on it such as getting our school to use only post-consumer paper, carpet, decompasable cups, automatic light turner offers and even over the next couple years becoming a renewable energy only school by puting up solar cells and wind turbines on campus!

We look forward to these changes and would like to thank (AG) and anybody else who singed on.

JB
